A dental inlay is the reconstruction of a tooth using a resin, ceromer (ceramic optimized polymer), or porcelain restoration of a molar that has a cavity or that is fractured. The inlay is previously created in a laboratory and then it is cemented into the tooth. It is highly aesthetic, very resistant and preserves the structure of the tooth.

 

Dental inlays can also be used to restore teeth that have a minimal amount of damage to them and where it is not necessary to resort to the placement of a porcelain crown.  Whether the tooth is cracked or has been fractured, dental inlays are an excellent solution.  They can also be used to replace old or damaged metal fillings, giving a more natural look to your smile, because the tone of the inlay can be made to match the rest of your teeth.

 

Porcelain is very resistant and provides lasting results because it adheres perfectly to the repaired tooth, sealing it and strengthening its structure, thus helping to avoid the formation of cavities and preventing bacteria from entering into the tooth.
